i ordered the sweet and sour banana fritter (goreng pisang) at $1 (slightly pricier than the norm which usually ranges from about 70cents and up) and the tapioca fritter at 70 cents. they have a special offer going on: red labeled items go at three for two bucks which is pretty good. the banana fritter isn't part of those red labeled items ):

sweet and sour banana fritter- $1. i am a sucker for goreng pisang. the other awesome goreng pisang i've eaten is the one at longhouse (thompson). i can inhale three at a go. when i first bought this one from yummibites i was secretly scoffing and regretting my decision... seriously.. SWEET AND SOUR banana fritter? but it really lived up to expectations i was mightily pleased. i couldn't wait to gobble it up once i started eating.

i don't usually eat fried stuff but i make it an exception for goreng pisang and chicken wings. this one was golden and crispy on the outside, and on the inside.. on the inside lay banana heaven. it's REALLY sweet and slightly sour so it's not overly cloying. there's something about the banana that oozes out once you bite into it. my saliva glands are starting to go into overdrive thinking about it. a good teatime snack if you aren't feeling too rich and you just want something to cure the itchy mouth.

i also tried the tapioca fritter. i was torn between the cheese fritter and the tapioca one but i went for the more conventional one instead. this one was practically a neon green on the inside.. overly bright colours are never a good sign when it comes to food for me. but it was good! it's my first time trying a tapioca fritter but i enjoyed it after the sweet goreng pisang. the taste to me is more 'boring' but it doesn't make it more plain. the colour was a plus! i secretly pretended i was eating a radioactive tapioca haha! this one goes for 70c so if you are feeling a little more tightfisted this is the one for you.. but if you don't really favour tapioca it might be a little strange for you, but enjoyable all the same :D
